Shipping & Shopping Tips & Hints

This is important and useful information. Take the time to read it and it could save you a lot of money in shipping costs.

Use Your Own Carriers

Perhaps you work for a company which has its own account with an international freight company, and you have negotiated your own freight discounts. If you have, then check out the cost of sending your goodies to you by your own freight company, or ours. If your company is cheaper than the one we use, then simply E Mail us with the details and we will send them to you using your carrier.

We charge you the rate which we are charged. If your carrier is cheaper - then we are quite happy to use yours.

Make the comparrison. You be the judge.

Transit Times to the USA

Generally speaking, Parcel Force (Consignia), who work with the US Postal Service, will guarantee to have your goods delivered in 4/5 working days. In the USA this has had to be put on hold for the time being as US customs are - quite rightly - being very cautious.

However, at the time of writing this (March 2002) I can say from the volume of goods we have sent to the USA since September 11th, that in reality the service is just the same, very good! The only difference is that they have - for the time being - removed their guarantees.

Chocolate

Because chocolate melts in hot weather, we might have to refuse some part of your order.

We would rather that you were a 'little bit' unhappy, instead of 'flamin mad!' because the cholocate arrived in a big brown mess at the bottom of a carton.

Friends and Family (and other habits)

If you have a passion for something in particular but are put off from buying at the thought of having to buy 3/4 kgs of goods, then why not get together with friends, family or fellow workers to inlcude their passions as well. In that way your transport costs will be kept very low

Outside Europe

For areas outside Europe we use Consignia, (used to be called the Royal Mail and then Parcel Force). Because of the time delay in using a conventional sea freight carrier who can take up to 40 days to deliver. Whereas Parcel Force take between 4/10 days depending on the destination.

Wherever you live, it is always best to try different combinations of goods to ensure that you are getting best value for money.

Ths software used in the shop will automatically add the weights of the goods in your shopping basket to give you as accurate a freight price as possible. In order to achieve this we have had to add the packaging weight to the weight of the goods. If when we receive your order and find that there has been an over estimation, you will be offered a refund.

Remember!

Freight companies charge by either weight or volume, whichever is the greater.

Make sure that with your 20 packets of crisps there are some heavier weight goods as well, otherwise you will be paying for fresh air!
